As a junior software engineer still completing my studies, I did not expect my first professional role to be in the steel industry. Like many, I associated steelmaking with massive furnaces, fixed routines, and legacy systems. What I did not expect was how much room there would be for innovation and creativity.

At Danieli Corus, I quickly discovered that software is no longer just a supporting element. It is becoming central to the way we approach and improve steel production. From the beginning, I was encouraged to explore advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence, simulation, and digital modeling, and to contribute fresh ideas even as someone just starting out. That level of trust has been both surprising and incredibly motivating.

What has struck me most is how creative software engineering can be in this environment. It is not about making things look polished. It is about building smarter, more efficient, and more sustainable systems. Every technical challenge is like a puzzle, and every solution we implement has a direct impact on real world industrial operations.

I am still learning every day, but being part of a team that values innovation, embraces new perspectives, and creates space for growth has made this an inspiring place to begin my career.
