Rebuild of ArcelorMittal Ghent Stoves B1 and B2
ArcelorMittal and Danieli Corus have signed a contract for an EPC project to rebuild hot blast stoves B1 and B2 at the 2347 m³ Ghent Blast Furnace B.
The stoves were originally built in 1967 and their lifetimes have been extended through multiple modernizations and modifications. They now require a complete rebuild. The stoves will be equipped with a mushroom–type dome, refractory expansion allowance features and inter–crystalline stress corrosion protection for the longest lifetime achievable—as well as the latest ceramic burner configuration and improved checker design for the highest efficiency and operating stability.
