Order for Additional Sublance System for JSW Steel Dolvi Works

JSW Steel Limited has selected Danieli Corus for the design and supply of a Sublance–based BOF Process Control System for the 300 tonne Converter No. 3 of BOF Shop No. 2 at their Dolvi Works. This is a repeat order after an earlier contract for two such systems for Converter Nos. 1 and 2 in Dolvi.
JSW Steel Limited was the first steel producer in India to fully embrace Sublance–based BOF Process Control in India. The first contract, for the design and supply of three sublance systems and a process control model for the three 120 tonne converters at Toranagallu BOF Shop No. 1, was awarded in 2011. Since then, a total of six additional systems were supplied to JSW Steel for their Toranagallu plant, along with three for Dolvi Works.
With this pioneering spirit, JSW Steel demonstrated the system’s value within the growing Indian steel industry. Other steel producers, such as Jindal Steel & Power Limited, ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel and Tata Steel have committed to installing sublance systems at their BOF Shops after the proven, solid success of implementation within JSW Steel.
On top of installing sublance equipment, JSW Steel and Danieli Corus have also developed a highly successful service proposition with Sublance Installed Base Management, whereby operation and maintenance is outsourced by the end user to the equipment supplier, agreeing guaranteed availability levels and hit rates.
