SSAB Oxelösund Hot Blast Stove 47

After a long campaign, the existing hot blast system at SSAB’s Oxelösund Blast Furnace No. 4 suffered fading capacity. As a solution, an additional stove was built, but a few years into operation this turned out to be underspecified. Danieli Corus installed the new Hot Blast Stove 47 in a single lift.
Erected in single lift
To have erection–related activities such as welding and coating done within the confines of a steel plant introduces complications given the strict safety regulations for executing this work within a high–risk operating plant. The entire vessel was assembled and finished in the subcontractor’s workshop—which is optimized for completing this work safely and efficiently.
Equipped with “True Grid” Burner
The new Hot Blast Stove 47 is equipped with the “True Grid” burner developed by Danieli Corus for maximum efficiency and minimized emissions of harmful gases such as carbon monoxide.
Customized to match campaign target
Since there was no requirement to achieve the “endless” campaigns that Danieli Corus stoves are known for, a design with a straightforward, hemispherical dome was developed to meet the client’s campaign target for this Blast Furnace.
