Dillinger Hüttenwerke Converter
In a first converter vessel replacement project in the highly demanding German market, Danieli Corus replaced the 200 tonne Converter No. 1 for AG der Dillinger Hüttenwerke. The converter was designed to meet the client’s objective of being able to continue their high performance steelmaking operation over a long and safe campaign.
Fully customized
The vessel’s bottom, barrel and top cone sections were manufactured out of P420 MHT, a proprietary grade supplied by the client. Danieli Corus has the ability to engineer and manufacture the vessel shell out of any combination of steel grades matching the end user’s objectives.
Proprietary suspension system
The converter relies on a vertical suspension using eight Lamella elements and a horizontal suspension system based on patented DaniellaTM technology.
Detachable bottom
For faster replacement of this highly wear–prone part of the refractory lining, the client selected a design using a bottom section that can be replaced as a modular part.
