As our Manager Mechanical Engineering, you and your colleagues will be responsible for the overall leadership, performance, and development of the Mechanical Engineering and Design & Drafting disciplines. The role ensures that mechanical engineering and technical documentation are executed efficiently and in compliance with project requirements, quality standards and company procedures.

Responsibilities

Department Management

  • Lead, organize, and manage the Mechanical Engineering (8 FTE), Design & Drafting (5 FTE) and team in Poland (5 FTE), including  external resources;
  • Plan and allocate resources to projects and proposals, ensuring optimal utilization, competence alignment, and timely delivery;
  • Monitor progress, workload, quality, and budget performance of departmental activities;
  • Establish, implement, and maintain engineering standards, procedures, and best practices;
  • Support outsourcing activities and manage external partners.

Mechanical Engineering Leadership

  • Provide technical leadership for mechanical design, specifications, and engineering integrity;
  • Review and approve technical concepts, calculations, specifications, and engineering deliverables;
  • Support proposals, project execution, and product development from a mechanical engineering perspective.

Design & Drafting Leadership

  • Lead the creation and delivery of 2D and 3D layouts, models, and manufacturing drawings;
  • Maintain CAD, and product data management standards within PLM systems;
  • Ensure designs are manufacturable, consistent, and properly documented.

People and Organizational Leadership

  • Recruit, coach and evaluate team members supporting competence development and succession planning;
  • Foster a high performance, collaborative, and safety focused work environment;
  • Support competence development and succession planning;
  • Conduct performance and development reviews.

Stakeholder and Engineering Management

  • Contribute to engineering strategy, planning, and continuous improvement as part of the Engineering Management Team;
  • Collaborate with Project Management, Proposal Management, Procurement and other stakeholders.

What makes you successful?

Your knowledge and experience include the following:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent;
  • Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in mechanical engineering within heavy industry;
  • Proven experience in managing engineering and/or design teams;
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical design, engineering processes, and industrial equipment;
  • Experience with CAD and PLM systems (e.g., Teamcenter);
  • Experience with project environments, planning, and budgeting;
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills;
  • Fluent in English and willing to travel internationally.
