Estimator

Job description

In this position you will create estimates and budgets for proposals, projects and studies. The most important tasks are:

Create and coordinate cost estimates (on time in full)
Determine risks and financing costs
Prepare cashflow schemes
Check, challenge and approve proposals and budgets of colleagues and third parties
Develop and update unit rates based on finalized projects
Update pricing information in ERP and other systems
Optimize the proposal tools and techniques, stay on top on professional developments

Requirements

BSc diploma, e.g. Technical Business
Knowledge of estimating techniques re. industrial pricings (man hours, construction, materials, project management etc.)
Thorough calculation skills (Excel or equal), experienced in working with an ERP system
Experience, at least 5 years, with cost engineering/estimating of international capital projects, preferable with a technical, multi-disciplinary contracting company
Ability to guide, coach and challenge a small team of professionals (continuous improvement)
Fluent in Dutch and English, both in oral and in writing
Proactive attitude and team player
Ability to continue to work accurately under strain
Prepared to travel and work internationally (limited to trips of one week a few times per year)

Global Sales Department

The Global Sales Department is responsible for acquiring sufficient order intake for securing the sustainability of our growing organization. The primary task of the Estimating group, as a vital part of Global Sales, is to accurately compose cost estimates and assess the corresponding risks. As a consequence, the hit rate of our proposals remains high while projects are executed at costs within a narrow bandwidth of the estimates.
