Taiyuan Iron & Steel Group and Danieli Corus have signed a contract for the design and supply of a lining and cooling system for the reline of Blast Furnace no. 5 at the Taiyuan steel plant. The new Blast Furnace will be one of the larger furnaces in China. As part of this project, Danieli Corus will implement their proprietary “Hoogovens” Cooling Lining Technology for the second time in China. Danieli Corus completed a similar project for Blast Furnace No. 6 and based on the excellent operational experience and minimum maintenance requirement over the last seven years, Taiyuan Iron & Steel Group has decided to award this project to Danieli Corus. The scope of the project is for design, supply and supervision.
